We offer a wide range of school-based and extra-curricula sports that provide children with an opportunity to develop their sporting and leadership skills and build friendships.

School Sports Days

There is an emphasis on participation on these days. These are always well supported by parents and wider community.

Annual sports days include :

  • Swimming
  • Triathlon
  • Cross Country
  • Splash'n'dash (years 0-2)
  • Athletics

Lunchtime Activities

During lunchtime we have a lots on offer, where the children choose from a range of fun and purposeful activities. Lunchtime activities include :

  • Cycling during cycle safety weeks
  • Basketball
  • Padder Tennis
  • Swimming
  • Skateboarding/ scootering - every day!
  • Soccer
  • Adventure playground
  • Sand pit
  • Library
  • Cricket
  • Monkey bars
  • Mudslide
  • Tree climbing
  • Bike track

From time to time there are parent/student lunchtime matches in some sports.

Saturday/HB competition/inter-school sports

  • Cricket
  • Rugby
  • Soccer
  • Netball
  • Orienteering – HB Orienteering Championships- we are regular place-getters
  • Cycling – Our cycling team successfully competes locally and at North Island level.
  • Triathlon – HB Primary School School Triathlon Championships
  • Cyclocross

Coastal Cluster

Navigator (senior) students are involved in an interschool sports competition that involves nine local primary schools. These events are held several times through the year for the following events:

  • Touch Rugby
  • Tech challenge
  • Soccer
  • Ki o rahi
  • Netball
  • Swimming
  • Cross Country
  • Literacy challenge
  • Tabloid sports/ Athletics
  • Hockey
  • Kiwi softball

We also regularly field large numbers of students in the Weet-bix Try and The Tough Guy Gal Kids Challenge.
