These are available to all children through a range of programmes and activities.
Our aim is to present a range of artistic and cultural activities for the students. It is up to the students to make the most of these opportunities and to become involved.
We hold a school dance festival every year. Children get into teams, choreograph and perform their dances. Top teams from this school competition go on to represent our school at the Hawke’s Bay Dance Festival.
Jump Jam is a weekly part of Haumoana life. A great way to start our day has turned out very competitive teams who participate in the annual Jamp Jam competitions.
These are annual events that provide students with the opportunity to learn, practice and perform gymnastic routines.
Kapa Haka / Te Reo
All children receive weekly class lessons in Kapa Haka and Te Reo Maori. Students may wish to join the Kapa Haka roopu, working with a kapa haka tutor on a weekly basis.
These can be arranged through the school with the Napier Music Academy.
We have an award-winning choir of 50+ children from Y3, 4, 5 & 6 who have enjoyed much success in the regional KidSing Competition.
All classes have music lessons with Mrs Lynette Urwin, our specialist music teacher. Junior and senior singing sessions are also part of the programme.
